Sing! Celebrate! Rejoice!: An Interactive Gospel Workshop Experience

African American Spirituals and Gospel Music contain some of the most powerful American poetry, and speak of God’s love for all mankind. They reflect joys and sorrows, hopes and fears, personal struggles and dreams and continue to this day to testify to the resilience of the human spirit. Join Gospel Music educator and choir director Eric Dozier in Edmonton, Alberta as he takes you on an interactive exploration and celebration of these folk hymns of Praise, Protest, and Purpose.

The Motown Revival Project

Music served as a barometer for the mood of the times and as a crucial ingredient in movements which united people in their struggle for progress and betterment. Join me as I examine the intersection between music and history by performing songs and discussing key musical figures from the Motown Era and the Civil Rights Movement as well as other voices of change both within the US and internationally. And perhaps most importantly, everyone experiences viscerally the unifying force of group songs, not just by hearing them, but by singing them together!
